Does Your CE Software Automate ACPE Credit Reporting?

On one hand, it’s great that that Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) lets you submit credits online via CPE Monitor. A single repository for all of your ACPE credit reporting? That’s a good thing! On the other hand, reporting those credits is just one more thing you have to do.

It can also take awhile to get it done – especially if you’ve got lots of data to parse and format.

What if you could automate ACPE credit reporting?

Or, for that matter, all of your CE credit reporting? It sure would make life easier.

The good news is that automatic ACPE reporting is possible. The bad news? For most accredited providers, their existing CE platform can’t accommodate it.

That’s right. The stumbling block isn’t availability of technology, lack of IT personnel, or even the ACPE’s ability to accommodate automatic reporting. The issue is the CE software you’ve got today. If it doesn’t support automatic ACPE credit submission, you’ll have to continue reporting the data manually through CPE Monitor.

Automatic ACPE credit reporting is dead simple. All you do is let learners complete an activity and request credit. The rest takes care of itself.

Curious how it works? Here’s how to automate ACPE credit submissions using Rievent.

It’s a straightforward, two-step process:

  1. When learners complete an ACPE credit-eligible activity, Rievent automatically processes credits, updates learners’ transcripts, and records the data.
  2. Using a real-time web service, Rievent sends the credit data to CPE Monitor, where it’s tracked and managed by the ACPE.

That’s it! See how that process didn’t require you to prepare a batch file (or files), log into CPE Monitor, upload the file, and hope that the data was complete and error-free? It’s a lot easier!

Luckily, automatic credit submission isn’t limited to ACPE credit.

You can automate (or mostly automate) all of your CE credit reporting.

You might report to other accrediting bodies besides the ACPE. If you do – and you also want to automate or simplify that reporting – there’s a way to do it in Rievent.

If you report to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), you’re probably used to submitting NARS reports. Much like ACPE credits, compiling and formatting NARS reports can require lots of time, not to mention significant staffing resources.

While there’s no automated web service for communicating with NARS, it is possible to simplify and streamline your NARS reporting. And by “simplify,” we mean you can transform all reporting into a 5 to 10-minute exercise. When it’s time to submit your annual report, all you have to do is:

  1. Log into the Rievent Administrator Portal.
  2. Download your annual NARS report.
  3. Head over to the NARS website.
  4. Upload your report.

That’s all it takes! It’s not 100% automated since the ANCC doesn’t offer a NARS web service, but it’s definitely not time-consuming either. Rievent collects all NARS data throughout the year and assembles it into a properly formatted report for you. You don’t have to do any formatting yourself.

ACCME PARS reports work the same way. CME providers can download a PARS report from Rievent and upload it to the PARS website in a matter of minutes.

Oh, and if you offer Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credit to your CME learners, there is a web service for submitting those credits. In conjunction with the ACCME and collaborating medical boards, Rievent automatically submits MOC points for validation the moment your learners request credit. It works just like the automated submissions to CPE Monitor!

Pain-free reporting helps you focus on valuable tasks.

That’s why we work so hard to simplify credit submission – so you can take back the hours you spend on tedious reports and spend them building great CE activities for your learners!

If there’s an accrediting body to report to, we figure out the easiest way to create and submit your reports. Simple as that.

Ultimately, you want to design and support transformative CE activities that improve the practice of medicine. It’s a cause we believe in, too. The more time you have for CE, the more effective our medical professionals.

We’re doing our part so you can do yours.
